Reba McEntire Covers If I Were a Boy for CMA 2

Anyway, Reba McEntire did not choose songs by Miranda Lambert, Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley (who bagged the award). Keith Urban or Zac Brown Band. Rather she chose a Beyonce song –which I don’t mind really. However, is it me or is this sort of like a protest or something? You and I know that Reba McEntire agree not to the nominees particularly for the Entertainer of the Year award. She was disappointed that the likes of Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw and Taylor Swift were snubbed in the category. Quoted, Reba said in an interview “I would’ve assumed that they would’ve been nominated before Zac Brown Band, Lady Antebellum and Miranda Lambert.”

Miranda Lambert was also surprised of her nine nominations, saying that she feels a bit unworthy. She went home with three major awards for Music Video of the Year, Album of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year (an award Reba was also nominated for).

Reba McEntire has a reputation of winning at the CMA for four consecutive years for Female Vocalist. She was also herald many times over by other music award giving bodies.
