Jimmy Buffet at the Coast 1

Jimmy Buffet has been involved in many charity and preservation efforts. His latest contribution for the awareness campaign on the oil spills at the Gulf Coast did not come to us as a surprise. Jimmy Buffet rendered a free concert at the Gulf Coast of Alabama billed ‘Jimmy Buffet and Friends Live From the Gulf Coast’ and I watched his video on CMT singing ‘When the Coast is Clear.’ He also sang some old favourites like Margaritaville plus other collections from Gulf Coast songs.

An estimated 3500 fans crowded the seashore of the Gulf Coast, some with tears in their eyes as the singer and songwriter sang about the oil rigs and the closing of the Gulf. Although the concert was a bit emotional, the fans didn’t leave their festive moods behind. Many of them wear their Hawaiian shirts and parrot hats as they sang and dance at the beach.
