Cliff Lee Traded to Rangers! 1

Left Hand Pitcher Cliff Lee was traded to the Texas Rangers! First of all, everyone thought that the Mariners and the Yankees had an agreement in principle concerning the Cliff Lee trade. Second of all, we all thought that the Texas Rangers were on the state of bankruptcy? We understand that the Rangers have the team’s best interest at hand and they may even afford Cliff Lee’s $9 Million salary per season but, for how long?

The Cliff Lee acquisition indeed came as a surprise to most, especially to the New York Yankees who was ready to deal with the Mariners even willing to sacrifice Jesus Montero. But, as this story goes, the billion-dollar empire Yankees lost to the bankrupt Rangers.

Not only that Cliff Lee deal was a hay-wire but to give away a winning pitcher to the leading team from the same division is a bit absurd.
