A Night of Second Chances at the BET 1

El Debarge staged a comeback at the BET Awards.

‘Rhythm of the Night’ is El Debarge’ biggest hit yet and performing it at the BET Awards is a nice move to help boost awareness to his soon to be released album. El Debarge’ newest album ‘Second Chance’ is about –you guessed it, second chances.

El Debarge noted that indeed everybody needs a second chance. And I believe this is more of a plea than a declaration of truth. Most especially since El Debarge is best remembered, not only as the falsetto guy behind the song ‘Rhythm of the Night,’ but also as the artist who was busted for drug raps a few times in the past. El Debarge was also arrested for vandalism, possession of controlled substance, drug possession and domestic violence. And do we need to be reminded about his brother Chico Debarge who served prison time for drug trafficking?
