The oval symbol represents the shape of an egg and hence generative creativity and birth. Planets revolve in the shape of an oval. And if the oval is squeezed it forms the infinity symbol.
The knot work which these Celtic people did as an art really had so many symbolic significances. If only they had written the actual meaning it would have been nice. But they at that time didn’t have any writing way of expressing things. But however the Roman literate people had written some really valuable things about their culture so that the Celtic knot work values didn’t have an end. They are still used in this modern world because of their traditional values. And some use it because they are beautiful and nice to look. Most of them use it as luck since they see the luck they really bring to every one.
